In recent, Snapchat was ranked the third most popular social app just behind Facebook and Instagram.
But few years ago, I believed that Snapchat is not an extremely popular app like now. Eventually, Snapchat developed a functionality called “stories”, users can add pictures or videos into a “story” which can be viewed by other people and it is available for 24 hours. What’s more, Snapchat features “live stories”, with focus on one specific theme like “Football” or “London” by various users.
The functionality which is very popular and important between brands and celebrities, their official Snapchat will show products or events are related to themselves to their fans, so that they can promote anything they want to. Take an example, Topman, Gucci, Burberry and Valentino these brands were using Snapchat to broadcast a live about the fashion show last few weeks, it attracted lots of people to watch it on Snapchat, because they can have the same chance to watch the fashion show like celebrities and upper classes people, but they don’t have to pay or need the invitation to the show. Besides “story”, Snapchat also has different filters to offer people to entertain, and some of filters need to be paid like $0.99, but people still have fun on Snapchat!
